SUMMARY OF THE EVENT

 

 Session One. Clearing the Air

 

Sthuthi Jebaraj led the Design Thinking Challenge for clearing the air. This took place a week on March 24th. The second portion continued on Tuesday, April 3rd 

 

Session Two: Nourishing the Body & Mind with Doug Rauch & Erick Landwehr

 

The first portion of the session was led by Doug Rauch as he shared his life experiences including spiritual travels to India and Trader Joe’s Leadership role;  why he decided to found Daily Table and What Daily Table Does and as well as its impact. He also outlined ways that BOW students to get involved

 

The second portion was a 15-20  minutes mediatation session was led by Erick Landwehr, a professional musician and who has been a music teacher since 2002

 

The fresh and healthy catered food in this session was from Daily Table 

 

 

Session Three: Beyond the Hack @Schlesinger Space, Park Manor West

 

In this session, incredible healthcare entrepreneurs from 4 companies from Edification project, Give, INC, LifeBox, and Maternova shared their challenges, and the audience provided possible solutions to address them. 

 

 

 

 

Session Four: "Bending the Arc"  Film  Screening and Conversation with Dr. Paul Farmer and Ophelia Dahl @Winn Auditorium, Olin Hall

 

This capstone event began with Dr. Wijeana Glover, Director of Schlesinger Fund for Global Healthcare Entrepreneurship (GHE), Lewis Institute giving a few words about the significant GHE plays at Babson followed by remarks of their role within the BOW community from the 3 Presidents in attendance. 

 

This was followed by the screening of "Bending the Arc" Film followed by a discussion with Partners In Health co-founders, Dr. Paul Farmer and Ophelia Dahl that was moderated by President of Wellesley, Dr. Paula Johnson. 

 

The session ended with acknowledging the importance of hosting such of an event-first of its kind within the BOW Community and why more events needs to result from this. Those in attendance were recognized and organizers as well as were appreciated with some gifts from the BOW WHD committee.
